Week At A Glance
December 15-19, 2025
Can you feel it in the air? Christmas is almost here! We are still learning about Christmas traditions around the world. We also learned a little bit about Hanukkah today. Wednesday, December 17 is BOX day at school. Please help your child find an EMPTY box to bring to school that day. It can be any size, any type-from macaroni boxes to Amazon boxes. We will be sorting, measuring, and drawing our boxes as we put our math skills to work. Friday we are having elf day at school. We will make a cute little elf mask and will be doing fun rotations with the other kindergarten classes. Friday is a half day, so our whole school is out at noon that day. We will eat lunch a little early that day and will be ready to go home at noon.
I was so nice to talk to each of you at parent teacher conferences. I know December is extra crazy, so I am so thankful that you would set aside a few minutes to come to school. Thank you for all you do to help your child succeed at school.
As is gets colder, please remember to dress your child for the weather. We will be going outside most days for recess. If you are having trouble getting warm things for your child, please let me know and we can help.
Remember to keep reading! Our class won the most minutes for kindergarten reading again! Thanks for reading and for sending calendars back! December's calendar came home today. Our reading goal is to read to and with your student for 20 minutes a day. Thanks for reading the book in your child's folder each night. Read it and put it back and they will get to choose another one when they bring the first one back. Write the minutes down on the reading calendar and return them at the end of the month for a prize.
Part of our core includes learning their address and phone number. This is difficult to teach at school. Please help your child practice their address and phone number. When you feel like they know it, send me a note in their folder or an email. They will get a prize for knowing their phone number, and when they know their address I will send a letter to them in the mail.
Please label lunch boxes, backpacks, jackets and other items with at least the student's last name. This will help us to make sure that we get everything back to the proper place.
If you have any questions you can send a note in your child’s folder, or call me at school. Email is a great way to reach me too. My email address is angela.eckhardt@nebo.edu THANK YOU!
